Helping Your Computer System Grow Up

Presenters: Adam Frost, Computer Care and Learning and Steve Backman, Database Design Associates

Audience: Non-technical, some technical background, advanced techies/software developers. This is an opportunity to have a conversation that combines technical and down-to-earth daily business concerns, so a mixed audience would be helpful.

How to assess an organization's computer resources for maturity and appropriateness, and then how to work with board, staff, computer support people, and constituents to make the system vibrant, robust, flexible, and a true support in reaching the organization's goals.

Adam will highlight general system and infrastructure issues, and Steve will highlight database and web software issues, and have combined to bring a holistic approach to this broad question.

Participants are encouraged to bring detailed descriptions of their computer life for discussion.
