Lessons learned from Katrina, like Aidmatrix technology can "transfer to the public sector and draw attention to what went right." -- The Wall Street Journal, 2005
Aidmatrix Network ™ Collaboration offers Process for Everyday Use
The Aidmatrix Foundation™ was designated by FEMA to develop and deploy an innovative system for donations management. This coordinated approach connects private sector, government and leading nonprofit entities in times of emergency. It is scalable enough to leverage in disaster, but simple enough to use daily.
The Network further enhances the process of unaffiliated donors and unsolicited goods to those in need through public and voluntary channels. These on-line solutions bridge a gap in getting the Right Aid to the Right People at the Right Time™.
"This system will enable those in government and the nonprofit sector to share and manage offers of products and strategic services more effectively and more quickly to help those in need," said FEMA Director David Paulison. Donation offers can be made on a national level or to individual states, and in turn, will be available to participating nonprofits.
Donors offering goods or materials from the corporate and private sectors will have a one-stop shop web-based system. They can make donations available to a specific nonprofit, or direct offers to all of the aid-responding nonprofits. A donation will not be transported or warehoused until a need is matched, thus eliminating the "secondary disaster" occurring when unneeded goods inundate a disaster area.
This system is offered to all 50 states and territories with the FEMA sponsorship. "This product will change the face of donations management," said David Muraki, who works with the California Service Corps, Office of the Governor. Aidmatrix encourages State officials to contact Mike Seifert, mike_seifert@aidmatrix.org who can schedule the system overview. After paperwork is complete, state representatives and members from Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) will complete training and the state portion of the Network will be deployed.
