Web Site Todo

NOTE: Before any changes are made to the OC website (other than the submission of blog posts), please let Felicia know, espeically if these are changes to design elements, navigational structure, static pages. Thanks.

For GD:

* Add a drupal "block" that provides a simple email list signup feature that chains to the "octech" page and populates the email address field. It must not use much real estate, i.e

Join our email list:
[___________] [go]

* research how we can have the "bat" block from the howard
dean campaign or something similar on our web site to encourage additional donations. It might be useful to have this prepopulate the first name and last name fields of the contribution form if the person is logged in, and even populate the amount if the person clicked on something that specified a particular default amount.

* going back to the ODB site, we would probably want to implement the functionality of having some info filled in automatically when a person is logged in so that they don't have to reenter info an extra time to download ODB twice.

* I am asking Steve Wishengrad to take care of the "donate" pages... i.e. the pages that list the folks who have wanted their name listed on the OC web site.

* Look into the issue of breadcrumbs... these could be used if you are at the page "about -> Board" for example...

* make a list of graphics we need to improve the navigation of the site and we will send this off to a volunteer soon to work on...

* look into the potential benefits of going to Drupal 4.7 (navigation system, menu system, taxonomy system, permissions system especially)

* work on further integration with OC email lists and with e-commerce

* have another meeting and see if we can get Kiran working on some of the ecommerce stuff once it is better defined.

For EW:
Create a design that incorporates CSS to generate the big navigation buttons using larger wrapped text.

Fix the style for the LI/UL tags on the home page so that the indeentation is not messed up.

Work on a way to display taxonomized links.

For GG:

Redo the top graphic so it is 800 x 120 or 800 x 125 pixels.

For KA:

XHTML compliance
E-Commerce

Others

Add photos to the home page and make it two columns..

Instead of having a menu item for "XML feed", it makes more sense to have a menu item for "RSS Info" which provides a page that explains the different ways you can tap into the site using RSS, and what you would do with that information. including use of taxonomy filters, etc.
